For factory managers or department heads, the basic unit of management is usually the workshop (some of which are combined into departments). As for work teams, team leaders and members should focus on safeguarding the interests of the workshop (department), rather than engaging in factionalism within the team or competing with other teams. The principle that everyone prospers when one does and everyone suffers when one does suffers is actually easy to understand. Then, as long as there are no problems with the work at your workplace, the supervisors who conduct inspections won’t consider your unit to be a thorn in their side, and they will turn a blind eye in such cases. Finally, when the leaders arrive, it is essential to show them the necessary respect; at the very least, one should not turn a blind eye to them. The issue of respect is mutual: it allows you to express your opinions and question your superiors, but there must always be a sense of proportion and moderation. If you show respect to others, they are likely to return it to you, including those in your organization as well. It’s fine to pursue such benefits through legitimate channels, but the prerequisite is not to lose respect – at least on the surface, one should make the other party feel respected. Do not lose your character for a trivial gain of being right.
