Lanchar wastewater refers to the wastewater generated during the medium- and low-temperature carbonization of coal (at around 650°C); it contains difficult-to-degrade organic pollutants such as phenols, tar, and ammonia, and its composition is similar to that of coking wastewater. In recent years, there have been many studies on the treatment of coking wastewater, such as incineration, electrochemical oxidation, coagulation, adsorption, and the use of flue gas for treating such wastewater. However, high costs or poor operability have prevented manufacturers from adopting these methods. Currently, conventional biochemical treatment processes are widely used in factories, but the quality of the wastewater produced by these processes does not fully meet the required standards. It is recommended to carry out resin adsorption after separating the tar, in order to remove the refractory phenols, and then proceed with biochemical treatment.
