Is the natural gas used in western Guangdong sourced from the Middle East?

I always thought that the natural gas in Guangdong region came from the West-to-East Gas Pipeline. It is only recently that I learned that the natural gas used in Maoming and other areas in western Guangdong is transported by LNG ships. Are LNG carriers much more expensive than the West-East Gas Pipeline?

The price of household natural gas in Lanzhou is 1.7 yuan per cubic meter. The natural gas price in Maoming is 4.98 yuan per cubic meter. The transportation cost of LNG carriers remains very high.
