Why are gate valves chosen as cut-off valves for steam and drain pipelines?
Gate valves are used far more widely than globe valves.
Gate valves are straight-through, and they are easy to clear once blocked by impurities or similar.
Is it what the specifications say or what you see on site?
Gate valves are cheap; ball valves, which also serve to cut off flow, are much more expensive
Gate valves are cheap, but their sealing performance is poor; we use globe valves for our steam trap pipelines
Globe valves are relatively inexpensive and easy to maintain! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
In practical use, gate valves are prone to problems; impurities tend to accumulate at the bottom, resulting in poor sealing. It is better to use globe valves or ball valves
