Float level gauge

I hadn’t noticed before; it’s only by checking the gauge today that I realized the 0 point of the float level gauge isn’t at the bottom, but rather in the middle of the float Does anyone know why?
That can’t be right; it should be zero when the tube is filled with light medium!
This post was last edited by jujiangliu on 2016-6-12 20:12. A full tube with light medium indicates zero, while a full tube with heavy medium indicates the full scale. If calibration is to be done using water, the specific gravities of light and heavy media must be converted into heights of water for the purpose of calibration.
This is determined by the density of the medium in the float tank
