There was a typing error; it’s about cracks at the edges of the pipes during welding, and those cracks from the repair welding have even spread further!
For ordinary water pipes or low-pressure pipelines, it can be used temporarily, but it definitely won’t work for high-pressure and critical pipelines; the material needs to be tested.
It’s probably because you welded too quickly, which caused thermal stress cracks (rapid heating and cooling); Otherwise, the stainless steel material you’re using should be sent for testing to check if there are any impurities
It’s the most frustrating thing when the physical and chemical tests come back satisfactory!
The solid solution treatment for 304 is rapid cooling. . So this is not the cause of the cracks. Skills, difference in thickness. . I think this might be the main reason

The welding rod can be used; if there’s nothing wrong with the rod, then it’s the welder’s own fault. There’s nothing special about 304 material either – the relevant technologies are well-established
