What is the general amount of water used for the trays in wash towers? Are they all greater than the amount required by the software package? How does their size affect the gray coloring?
Based on our situation, the process package is designed for a capacity of 90 cubic meters per hour; in actual production, the amount of water added depends on the volume of coal slurry – as much water is added as there is coal slurry. We always add around 80 cubic meters of water when using a capacity of over 80 cubic meters per hour, and we find this to be necessary, as insufficient water can easily cause blockages in the preheaters for the feed gas in the shift system
It is best to determine the water usage based on actual conditions; the data provided in the process package is only a reference value. Although a large amount of water used in the upper tray provides an effective cleaning effect, it reduces the water vapor ratio of the syngas at the outlet at the top of the carbon scrubber. Additionally, it increases the risk of the syngas carrying water into subsequent processing stages, which makes it somewhat counterproductive. Another point is to ensure that the washing efficiency of syngas is not determined solely by the water level in the trays; factors such as the liquid level in the gasifier, the amount of water used in the Venturi washer, the liquid level in the carbon scrubbing tower, the amount of water used for flushing the syngas, and the quality of the wastewater from the carbon scrubbing tower are all means through which control can be achieved.
Operate based on the performance of your own device, in conjunction with the data from the software package.
The maximum range of our flowmeter is only 61.5... The tray after the technical modification requires 80... I told them so··
Each company has its own methods and practices; what works best is the one that suits them.
