Nitriding treatment: increases the wear resistance, surface hardness, fatigue limit, and corrosion resistance of steel parts! It can withstand high temperatures, but after heat treatment, the brittleness of the steel increases to some extent! But the impact is minimal! Only steel components at ultra-low temperatures below -110°C, but cold shock treatment is still required during production!
What is the purpose of nitriding low-temperature valves? Nitriding is generally applied because the medium consists of solid particles; it enhances the wear resistance of the internal components. This low-temperature valve is likely used for low-temperature liquids, and liquids generally do not require nitriding treatment, as their degree of wear is already quite high.
Most materials experience an increase in hardness and increased brittleness at low temperatures; as a result, their wear resistance is better at low temperatures than at normal temperatures. If the purpose of nitriding is to improve wear resistance, then it is not really necessary to do so.
