Why aren’t there spares for reciprocating pumps or reciprocating compressors?
It’s not that there aren’t any backups; it’s just that your company doesn’t have them. Many companies have spare reciprocating pumps. Reciprocating compressors rarely come with spare units, and the reasons for this are likely as follows: First, the cost of a single reciprocating compressor is already relatively high; therefore, it is not economical to have one or more spare units ; II. Companies that generally use reciprocating compressors typically operate multiple complete sets of such compressors; even if there is a spare compressor, it is used to increase production capacity. When one of the compressors breaks down, the system can simply reduce its production volume.
Reciprocating pumps have backups, whereas centrifugal compressors do not; output is proportional to input.
In principle, it is considered necessary to have a spare unit, but in actual production, considering the cost of equipment, it is also possible to forego having a spare unit
As far as I know, both reciprocating pumps and reciprocating machines come with spares, as there are many wear-prone components that require frequent repairs.
To increase production, backup units are generally not kept in use; operations run at full capacity, and repairs are carried out promptly when failures occur. Backup units are usually available for reciprocating pumps, while compressors are always operated at full capacity
If you prepare it, you’ll have it; if you don’t prepare it, you won’t have it
I have these three ABC units as backups……
Both the reciprocating pump and the compressor must have spare units to ensure the continuous operation of the system over the long term. Without a backup, if the equipment breaks down, operations must be halted for repairs, which severely affects continuous operation.
There are backups available; it’s just that your factory doesn’t have them. They must have taken into account the cost of your equipment
