A crawler crane is a boom-type rotating crane that moves using crawlers. You may not be familiar with the most basic technical parameters of crawler cranes, such as the jib lifting mechanism, counterweights, and the rotation and pitching mechanisms of the control cabin; I will explain them to you below. Firstly, the mast lifting mechanism is composed of a mast, a lifting cylinder, and an auxiliary hydraulic system. When loading and unloading the crane, the mast can be raised from a horizontal position to 90 degrees outward, facilitating the connection of pull plates, the installation of the boom, and the track assembly, among other things. Secondly, the counterweight consists of a counterweight base plate, a counterweight, a counterweight lifting cylinder, a load-bearing chain, and a fixing pin cylinder. The self-installation and removal of counterweights have been completed, improving the utilization rate of the machinery and reducing the risks associated with manual installation. Additionally, the cab is rotatable – it can be turned 90 degrees from the side of the turntable to the front of it – and is secured with positioning pins, which reduces the mechanical width and facilitates transportation and handling. Finally, the pitching mechanism is controlled by cylinders from the control cabin; at higher lifting heights, the control cabin can tilt upward by 20 degrees, thereby improving the operator’s field of vision.
