If the medium, medium pressure, and temperature are known, how do you select the flange and bolts? Which standard to check, and how to check it?
You can refer to HG/T 20614 or HG/T 20635, \"Specifications for the Selection of Steel Pipe Flanges, Gaskets, and Fasteners\", or section 7.6 of SH/T 3059, \"Specifications for the Selection of Materials Used in Petrochemical Pipelines\", which deals with the selection of flanges, gaskets, and fasteners.
HG/T 20635 does not provide detailed instructions on how to choose between flanges and bolts based on operating pressure and temperature. Once the working pressure and temperature are determined, can we then refer to standards to select the flange material and pressure rating?
Choosing flanges, gaskets, and fasteners depends not only on temperature and pressure but also on the properties of the medium and cost considerations; experience plays a role in this process. The specifications provide some common recommendations that can be used as a guide, but they are not detailed enough to outline the selection process step by step.
