Due to the crisis in the domestic steel industry, many factories have been forced to shut down! We are no exception; most of the instrumentation equipment in blast furnaces is installed on-site. I would like to ask the experts here: can such instrumentation equipment survive the winter outdoors without being powered on or put into use? Will it cause damage to the equipment? I’m in Xinjiang! The coldest temperatures in winter can reach over minus thirty degrees! Thank you! I’m thinking of pressure and differential pressure transmitters, because there is silicone oil inside; I wonder if the silicone oil will solidify at low temperatures and damage the diaphragm Thank you all!
When the instrument is not in operation, I think there’s no need to worry as long as all the medium in the pressure transfer tube is emptied.
