PID beginner

I want to learn PID, but I don’t know how to do it well; just by looking at the diagrams, I can’t understand the meaning of some symbols. I’m seeking advice from experts. . .
First, look at the image on the home page; it will show the meaning of all the legends. If such information is not available, it indicates a problem with the design, and it can be requested from the design team.
I’m just learning*, how can I ask a design institute for legends?:

PID is a flow control diagram; therefore, you first need to understand the meaning of the lines, symbols, and letters on the diagram. Once that is done, you can identify which ones are the main process media and which ones are utility systems. You also need to know where the materials come from and where they go, what reactions or mixtures occur to produce new substances, and understand that control is achieved through instruments, flow valves, and similar devices. I guess that’s what PID means; it’s just my personal understanding, not a professional one.

In my opinion, PID is about connecting the various components in practice, with the main goal being to organize the operational steps clearly!
