Pipelines operating under positive pressure need to withstand short-term negative pressure during the startup vacuum test; what is the difference between such pipelines and ordinary positive-pressure pipelines? Thank you!
There’s no difference； As long as the negative pressure is not too high ； The wall is too thin ； The pipe diameter is too large ； As long as the negative pressure duration is not too long, there is no problem
Is it necessary to perform additional negative pressure calculations for the pipes? Worried that the pipes will get deflated
According to SH/T3059-2012, vacuum pipelines shall be designed to withstand external pressure; when equipped with safety control devices, the design pressure shall be the smaller of 1.25 times the maximum difference between internal and external pressures or 0.1 Mpa； In the absence of safety control devices, the design pressure is set at 0.1 MPa; it can therefore be seen that as long as the design pressure of this pipeline exceeds 0.1 MPa, it can withstand negative pressure.
