However, the temperature in our stripping tower remains around 70–80 degrees; it fails to rise to the desired level. What could be the reason for this? Are there any good solutions? Please share your insights.
You can try increasing the amount of high-pressure flash vapor supplied to the stripper in order to raise its operating temperature. If this amount has already reached its maximum, then turn on the steam used for stripping to see if that can help raise the temperature.
In addition to what was mentioned above, it is also necessary to take into account the differences among various devices, as well as whether other production and operational parameters can meet the design requirements based on the current temperature. If they can, then the issue of temperature measurement devices needs to be considered. If that’s not possible, then the overall design and supporting elements need to be considered.
Are there too many light-boiling substances? Is there any deviation from the design?
The design pressure is 0.12 MPa; at this pressure, the temperature does not reach the designed value of 120°C. Increasing the amount of flash steam or steam in the system will lead to overpressure.
The control of high-flash vapor is not proper; first, the high-flash pressure must be well controlled, and second, the high-flash vapor cooler after the graywater heater is used to adjust the amount of cooling water and vapor so as to achieve stripping. The amount of liquid discharged from the two systems into the vaporization process must be such that the high-flash vapor generated is sufficient to keep the stripping temperature above 120 degrees
By the way, we basically don’t use steam; flash vapor is sufficient to control the stripping at a pressure of around 0.15 for stage 123
There is too much light component, which prevents the temperature from rising after heat exchange with the flash vapor in the packing section. Is the amount of flash vapor too low? Are you using a saturated hot water process or a graywater heating process? ? Generally, the steam temperature in such systems is above 160 degrees, and the gas flow rate per furnace ranges from 3,000 to 5,000. This ensures that both the gas flow rate and temperature are adequately met; otherwise, it is necessary to increase the steam supply to the reactor vessel pipeline in order to heat the heavier components·
The amount of flash steam fed into the stripping tower is a bit low; let’s try increasing it. I’ll report back to you all on the results afterward. Thank you for your advice
The light boiling substances mentioned above need not be considered at all; the stripping in the gasification shift unit is primarily aimed at removing ammonia from the shift condensate. These days, steam is added to stripping towers to improve the stripping efficiency. If the stripping temperature cannot be increased, is the amount of steam being used increased? If increasing the steam amount still doesn’t work, then it’s necessary to check whether the thermometers are functioning properly and whether their placement is appropriate. Additionally, the ammonia content in the liquid at the bottom of the tower should be analyzed.
