Hello everyone, can flammable substances be discharged directly into the atmosphere? For example, the drain line and overflow line of a diesel storage tank (2㎡)
Is diesel leaking and being discharged into the environment? I really have never seen this before; why can’t it be recycled in a sealed environment? The volatility-related pollution from diesel should be minimal, but the risk of flammability always exists, or it could seep into groundwater and cause pollution.
It’s possible; in a few cases it might not be feasible. It needs to be sent to the torch, and recovery systems can be installed for the drain and overflow pipelines – it would be a waste to let it go to waste.
Flammable media can be discharged, and such discharge must be carried out in accordance with relevant specifications. For flammable gases, there are requirements set out in petrochemical fire protection regulations; however, those gases that can be recovered should be recycled.
How should it be sealed for recycling? Are there any buckets that can be used for sealed recycling?

It depends on the amount you have. It’s a waste to light a torch and burn it; if it’s diesel, adding an industrial furnace will allow the heat to be recovered~

The regulations aren’t that explicitly defined, but common sense tells us that 1) releasing flammable substances into the natural environment constitutes environmental pollution; 2. Substances that can burn are a form of energy; it’s a shame to let them be released. Therefore, recycling should be considered first, followed by discharge into facilities capable of handling it, such as flares or incinerators. Don’t be reluctant to make additional investments as long as it is beneficial to the environment.
Why must combustible media be discharged directly? The liquid can be recycled, and the gas phase can be used as fuel; I really can’t see any reason to discharge it directly.
You can take a look at the emission standards for air pollutants to see if there are any regulations regarding the substances that you emit.
