As the title suggests, I have just designed a kettle-type reboiler for AKT, and a hook-and-loop type floating head has not been used. Could someone please tell me how to calculate the rear tube sheet and the flanged convex head? reward_7ree

I haven’t done this either, so I can’t say. My idea is: 1. The fixed-end tube sheet should be calculated according to the standards, with the calculation pressure taken as the highest value among ps/pt/ps-pt ; The floating end tube sheet does not require calculation; the thickness of the fixed end tube sheet can be used directly ; 2. Regardless of whether the end flange has loops or not, the mechanical model of the flange should remain the same; therefore, standard calculations can be applied directly. When there is negative pressure on the shell side, the calculated pressure should be pt-ps. Differing opinions are welcome.
I agree with the opinion above. Instead of a hook-type floating head, a removable floating head should be used. There is no need to calculate the thickness of the floating end tube sheet; simply use the thickness of the fixed end tube sheet.
I have never worked with this format before; I think its structure should be something like this: the floating gasket plate without hooks has a larger diameter than one with hooks, so that it can also serve as a flange for connecting to the floating head flange. And so the result is clear: first of all, the thickness of the floating tube sheet must be no less than that of the fixed tube sheet ; Then, the floating tube sheet, which also serves as the tube sheet portion, meets the requirements for flange connection strength and stiffness ; Finally, in addition to meeting strength requirements, the thickness of the floating head flange must also satisfy the requirements regarding flow area.
