(5) Source classification system: Management indicators include collecting and storing hazardous waste according to its characteristics. Key implementation points: Hazardous waste possesses dangerous properties such as corrosivity, acute toxicity, leaching toxicity, flammability, and reactivity. It is necessary to avoid storing hazardous wastes with incompatible properties together, in order to prevent reactions that could lead to fires, explosions, as well as the generation and release of toxic substances. Specific requirements: 1. Understand the physical and chemical properties of the hazardous waste generated, develop plans for its classified collection and storage, and clarify the precautions for such collection and storage. 2. For the construction of sites for storing flammable and explosive hazardous waste, it is advisable to refer to the relevant provisions of the \"Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises\" and install environmental protection measures such as dikes (firebreaks), drainage ditches, and emergency containment ponds, in addition to equipping the site with fire-fighting equipment. Different categories of hazardous waste should be stored in separate areas, with partitioned aisles or walls installed between them. 3. Solid hazardous waste that is prone to hydrolysis and volatilization should be stored in a separate area after being placed in sealed packaging. 4. Reactions are likely to occur; therefore, incompatible hazardous wastes must not be stored in the same space. 5. Hazardous waste and general solid waste: shall not be stored in the same space. Basis for penalties for violating this regulatory requirement: Article 68 of the Solid Waste Law: Those who fail to establish facilities or sites for storing industrial solid waste that is not currently used or cannot be used, or fail to store such waste in a safe and classified manner, or fail to take measures for its harmless disposal, shall be fined between 10,000 yuan and 100,000 yuan. Article 75 of the Solid Waste Law: Those who store hazardous waste mixed with non-hazardous waste, or who collect, store, transport, or dispose of hazardous wastes with incompatible properties without proper safety measures, shall be fined not less than 10,000 yuan but not more than 100,000 yuan.
