Should the iron ion content in the acidic water of the catalytic device not exceed 0.5 percent?
There seems to be no strict standard for this, nor is it included in regular analysis items; however, a high value indicates increased pipeline corrosion, which requires attention!
The iron ion content in acidic water reflects the degree of corrosion of pipelines and equipment, and the values used for analysis vary from one company to another. Generally, the specifications are provided by the Mechanical Department or the Anti-corrosion Center.
It is generally no more than 1%; if it exceeds 1%, corrosion is severe, and the amount or concentration of the corrosion inhibitor needs to be adjusted
The iron ion content in acidic water is generally not included as a routine analysis parameter. Due to the type of crude oil processed by our company, this facility analyzes acidic water on a weekly basis; iron ions are used as a parameter to assess corrosion levels, but there are no fixed regulations or standards for this. We usually use two per thousand.
