Today, one of the residents in our building placed a jar of pickled vegetables in the electrical distribution box. Later, the jar leaked, and the liquid from the pickles flowed down through the cable channels into the main circuit breaker box downstairs. Now, the circuit breakers in that box will not close. What could be the cause of this? Once this pickled vegetable soup dries out, can it be connected to electricity? And if so, will the circuit breaker still function properly in the future? If it can’t be delivered, does that mean this soup is corrosive to the copper bars, causing the circuit breaker to be completely damaged? I checked some information – aren’t *ao acids and hypo*-*ao acids corrosive to copper? @yaohero

Your pickled vegetable soup contains salt, and salt has the property of absorbing moisture. So, with an existing humid environment, saltwater becomes conductive, which may prevent the switch from closing. There are two possible reasons for this: either mechanical failure or protective tripping. In your case, it’s likely due to protective tripping, right?
Yes, after four days of natural drying, there was still no power supply. Later, a hair dryer was used to dry it for half an hour; then it was left alone for another night. Power was restored on the fifth morning. Fortunately, the switch wasn’t damaged and didn’t need to be replaced.
