I’ve never worked with ground torches; only companies with low environmental impact are allowed to use them. The refinery where I work generates a high level of pollution, so high-altitude torches must be used. Is the burner you’re referring to one that introduces steam to lift the flame or reduce smoke? If so, then they are quite similar.
LNG is a clean energy source; it does not require steam to ensure safe combustion of the exhaust gases, and is used only to handle excess superpressured BOG (natural gas).

The commissioning of such flares involves more than just lighting the ignition tube and the permanent light; it is necessary to determine the critical values for opening and closing each pneumatic valve based on the combustion conditions at various stages.
