Dear experts, the 5400 radar level gauge often outputs 21.75 MA at the site; the issue is resolved after a reset, but it returns to an error state after a few days. There is no liquid present at the site – it’s an empty tank. The medium to be measured will be sulfuric acid. Please help analyze this situation. Is there a table indicating the types of errors? Please share it

It might be that the wave has been lost; use a laptop to check whether there is an option related to waveguides, and make sure to select the option that matches the actual situation on site. Another scenario is when the tank has waveguides, but the quality of those waveguides is very poor.
The radar is equipped with an alarm mode; under normal conditions, it should operate in the high-alarm mode, which means that when there is an abnormality in the radar’s measurements, the output value is at its maximum, namely 21.75mA. This is an empty tank – has any service technician from the manufacturer come to the site to perform adjustments? I suspect that the tank height set in the radar configuration does not match the actual height of the tank. It is recommended to remove the radar and use a long ruler to actually measure the height of the empty tank, from the upper surface of the equipment flange to the bottom of the tank; for tanks with a flat bottom, the measurement should be taken from the flange to the bottom, while for tanks with a curved or conical bottom, it is advisable to measure to the lowest point of the cylindrical shape. After the measurement, re-enter the measurement data into the radar as the height of the radar tank. Additionally, if the configuration is confirmed to be correct, it is recommended to change the alarm mode to maintain output.
