What are the densities of the corrosion inhibitors and antifreeze additives used in diesel hydrogenation units? What determines the amount to be added, and are there any specific requirements?
The density of corrosion inhibitors is specified in the quality reports provided by the suppliers. Our refining unit uses a process that involves distillation and stabilization; the distillation is based on the amount of hydrogenation feed, while stabilization is determined by the amount of feed to the stabilization tower. The suppliers should provide a dosing plan, with typical levels being around 25–30 ppm; this amount can also be adjusted according to the pH value of the acidic water and its iron ion content
This should be related to the properties of the raw materials; the amount to be added is determined based on the content of sulfur, nitrogen, and oxygen in those raw materials~~
The supplier of the corrosion inhibitor should provide a dosing plan; generally, the dosage is around 15–30 ppm. The antifreeze agent must be determined through pilot tests specific to different types of diesel, as different diesel fuels have varying sensitivities to antifreeze agents.
Thickening agents have not been used; as for corrosion inhibitors, it depends on the concentration of iron ions in the water – here it’s no more than 3 ppm

Corrosion inhibitors generally involve companies entering into contracts with manufacturers of such inhibitors, in which specifications for the acceptable level and concentration of iron ions are established; based on these specifications, the manufacturer will develop an addition plan accordingly. Track the qualified rate of iron ions during use. Thickening agents need to be subject to comparative analysis – before and after the addition of these agents.
