Regarding gasoline blending issues

MTBE is sometimes used as a blending agent. Given the environmental hazards, the United States no longer uses MTBE. So, is the gasoline produced there now meeting the required octane levels without the need for any blending agents, or are other additives used instead? Is oil from Sinopec and CNPC also blended in this way?

I don’t know about the United States. Sinopec’s oil is blended. The vast majority of refined petroleum products are blended. Many types of additives can be added to oils, which can change or improve various properties of the oils. These are all mixtures.
