Does anyone know what the quality code means in DCS? I’ve been learning DCS recently
A function for defining I/O, in my understanding.
I understand that it’s the quality of the input signal that determines the quality code produced
It’s a marker character consisting of multiple bits, with each bit having a specific meaning – such as indicating data out of range or invalid. This information is transmitted to the DCS or other monitoring systems where it can be further processed, for example by filtering out all invalid entries. It serves primarily as a self-diagnosis tool for identifying issues with the control system’s hardware and software; that’s how I understand it
