Recently, I encountered an issue where the transmitter indicated a disconnected connection. After checking the cause of the problem, I measured the current at 23 MA; the wiring was also in good condition. Why is this happening? I would appreciate your advice on how to determine what the problem is and how to tell whether a transmitter is faulty.
The original poster should describe the problem more thoroughly so that a specific analysis can be done! What kind of transmitter? Temperature? Pressure? What type? What installation method? What is the range? What is a medium? How is the environment? Otherwise, everyone can only guess, what do you think?
This mainly depends on judgment based on experience. As you mentioned, a 23MA value is not common; if the range is correct and the actual pressure isn’t that high, then it’s definitely the transmitter that’s broken
It is important to make an accurate judgment whenever there is a display or abnormal display. If a value is shown, it is necessary to consider other parameters as well for a comprehensive assessment; if problems are suspected, calibration should be carried out.
It could be that the header is damaged, or it might be caused by high or low explosion
I don’t know the brand of your transmitter; if the displayed value is normal at 23, it’s possible that the transmitter’s output module is damaged
