Gulei Refining and Chemical Integration in Zhangzhou, Fujian; Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical; CNOOC Huizhou Phase II
Both Shenhua Yulin and Shenhua Xinjiang use the high-pressure process; Yulin’s plant has already started operations, while that in Xinjiang will begin after the New Year
Zhongtian Hechuang also has 370,000 tons of high-pressure capacity
The Shenhua Xinjiang LDPE plant has been put into operation and is running stably. It adopts the Lupotech TS high-pressure tubular process technology from German company Basell. This technology uses ethylene as the raw material, propionaldehyde or propylene as molecular weight regulators, and peroxides as initiators. The reactor employs a polymerization method with single-point ethylene feeding and four reaction stages to produce low-density polyethylene homopolymers under high pressures of 250–310 MPa. The basic design and the detailed design of the ultra-high pressure section were carried out by the German engineering company UHDE, while the detailed design was handled by Dalian Petrochemical Engineering Company’s Daqing branch (DPEC). The plant is designed for 7,600 hours of operation per year, with an average production capacity of 35.5 tons per hour. A total of 18 different grades of material are used, including general-purpose films, highly transparent films, shrink films, freezer films, agricultural films, materials for cables, injection-molding materials, and foam materials.
Shenhua Yulin: 300,000 tons, commissioned in 2015; Shenhua Xinjiang: 270,000 tons, commissioned in 2016; Zhongtian Hechuang: 370,000 tons, commissioned in 2017; China Coal Yulin: 300,000 tons, under construction; Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical: 100,000 tons, under construction; Gulei Petrochemical is also under construction; Shenhua Ningxia Coal is in the preliminary stage; Shenhua Yulin CTC
