Due to my busy work schedule, I haven’t been to Kaichuan in almost 2 years. Since the first unit of CNOOC began producing liquid in 2014, this unit has gone through nearly two years of challenges, and it is now on the verge of being shut down. Recalling those days, CNOOC was full of ambition and confidence, eager to make a big push in producing liquefied natural gas from coke oven exhausts, but it was defeated by the continuous decline in oil prices and the sluggish conditions in the natural gas market. A beneficial project for the country and its people is on the verge of being shut down due to pressures in the socioeconomic sphere and various other areas.
Well, even good projects must stand the test of the market. I believe there will be good results in the future.
Failure is the mother of success; one should not judge a person’s worth based on success or failure. In the United States, efforts to develop shale gas began in the 1950s and 1960s, and it can be said that it took at least 2 to 3 generations of failures before we reached the current level of progress. Almost all technological breakthroughs follow this path.
