Why, in the OCP unit of MTO, is the butane removal tower of constant diameter, the recycle tower thicker at the top and thinner at the bottom, while the propane removal tower is thinner at the top and thicker at the bottom? ? ?
What does the thickness of the tower represent? Represents the processing volume. This design indicates the amount of this component in the feed. Thicker at the top and thinner at the bottom indicates a higher proportion of light components and a lower proportion of heavy components in the feed. The opposite is true.
The processing load of each tray is different. The area of diameter change is located near the feed tray; the liquid phase load increases downward, while it decreases upward. Generally, the feed contains more heavy components and fewer light components.
