Dear experts and friends: Our company has recently taken on a project involving the assembly of compressors into skids. Previously, we would purchase these components directly from manufacturers specialized in such assemblies, but this time we need to carry out the assembly ourselves. However, the core compressor units and key auxiliary equipment still need to be purchased, with brands such as Ariel, Dresser-Rand, and Cooper being preferred； May I ask: Which domestic manufacturer can supply the head unit and core equipment separately, provide selection calculations, and guide us in assembling the system? What qualifications are required to become a lever operator? Conditions? What are the difficulties in implementing this approach? The main technical requirements are: a processing capacity of 22,000 Nm3/h, an inlet pressure of 1.6 Mpa, and an outlet pressure of 5 Mpa. I seek guidance and suggestions from experts. Thank you
I don’t think it’s too difficult; the key is to thoroughly understand the manufacturer’s documentation. At the same time, you need to know that creating sleds is a process that requires experience accumulation—even if you have done many designs before. Unless an expert comes over from another sledding business to guide you, be prepared to make continuous adjustments. As for who can provide guidance, it is recommended to turn to the domestic agents of these core components rather than domestic skid assembly agents. Last March, at the CIPPE exhibition in Beijing, I saw Ariel; they presented a reciprocating compressor that could be rotated by hand – it was quite interesting. Burkek and others are their authorized distributors. I’m not sure if they will participate this year; it’s recommended to contact them directly.
Creating sleds requires experience; one needs to be well-prepared for the first attempt, and it’s best to do some thorough research first. We have encountered cases where the sledging failed, with issues in many details.
Jianghan can supply the nose cone separately. I recently worked on a skid-mounted compressor project. The supplier uses their own cutting heads. I don’t know which brand the other devices are from.

To form a sled? When purchasing a server, technical support is included. Ariel, GE, and so on. It is recommended that the first unit be acquired through a technology-trade approach, using production costs in exchange for technology. Deal with the second one by yourself. Airflow pulsation and pipeline vibration can be handled by a third party. I feel that the most important aspect of making sleds is pipeline design, which requires experience and analysis. Sledging equipment is basically custom-made and must be designed according to the owner’s requirements.
