Why must the material drawn from the side streams of each refinery unit be cooled in a water cooler before leaving the unit? What would happen if the water cooling were removed? It’s just that the temperature of the device’s output product is a bit high – so what?
Higher temperatures result in greater volatilization in the tank area, which can even lead to overpressure in the storage tanks.
Disadvantages of high temperatures of oil exiting the plant: 1. High investment costs for storage tanks; 2. Water presence in the tanks, and when the oil temperature exceeds 100 degrees, boiling can occur easily as the oil enters the tanks; 3. High storage temperatures accelerate oxidation and deterioration of the oil; 4. High evaporation losses
It is determined by the manufacturing process: the temperature of the oil output should be as close as possible to room temperature, or slightly higher than room temperature. A high oil temperature poses safety risks and also results in higher equipment costs! It’s not convenient for operation or maintenance!
