How is the quantity of materials such as pipes, valves, fittings, and flanges determined during the detailed design phase? What I know comes from models; is the person who creates those models involved in material design? It’s a rather naive question, haha.
The material database in 3D software is created by pipeline materials specialists based on material grade tables, and the materials selected using 3D software depend on this database.
What is the relationship between 3D models and ISO drawings?
ISO diagrams can be extracted from 3D models, converted into plan views, and used to analyze materials.
The PDMS we use has an underlying database that contains various data related to different types of fittings and pipes. After the designer creates the model, it can be directly counted using the material aggregation function.
After the model is created in accordance with the relevant pipeline and fitting standards, the materials will be automatically calculated.
