Can double-phase stainless steel S22253 and stainless steel S316L be welded directly?
Thread Content
The company recently purchased several pumps from the United States; the flanges used for import and export are made of 316 material, but the pipes are made of S22253 duplex stainless steel. Can these two materials be welded together directly? If so, what type of welding wire would be suitable? Thank you very much~
Just use flange connections if you’re worried about issues with welding. It is definitely possible to weld it, but you need to develop your welding procedure specification WPS.
Sure, I agree with what was said on the 2nd floor. We have all done welding of duplex stainless steel and carbon steel, with a service life of 20 years.
