One unit has been built and put into operation in China: the 100,000 tons per year solid acid alkylation plant at Zibo Huihong Petrochemical. Another unit is under construction, using KBR’s technology – a 150,000 tons per year solid acid alkylation plant at Shandong Haike Chemical

Exactly, production started officially in October last year. Haike uses KBR’s, it should be in the design phase.
The Northwest Institute of Chemical Engineering is also developing this catalyst, as is the Petroleum and Chemical Engineering Research Institute.
Many organizations are working on this, but I think it’s difficult to make any breakthroughs; after all, it has taken foreign countries many years of research to achieve only limited results, so it’s too hard for domestic researchers to succeed in just a few years
