Selection of the location for adding sodium hydroxide in the methanol distillation process

Sodium hydroxide is added during the methanol distillation process; it is generally mixed with the crude alcohol before preheating. The alkaline liquid in the pre-tower cannot reach the upper part of the pre-tower, and thus cannot provide protection. Could it be added from the pre-condensation reflux tank? Would that affect the extraction efficiency of the reflux tank?
This is fine; there’s no major issue, but be careful about alkali corrosion
To ensure thorough reaction of the alkaline solution with the acidic substances in crude methanol and to promote the decomposition of amine compounds, it is still recommended to add it to the feed pipeline. With the return tank being so large, how can it be mixed evenly?
It is correct to have the feed line before the preheater.
