KBR transfers new alkylation technology to China. On February 18, 2016, KBR announced that it had secured its first licensed transfer contract for its K-SAAT solid acid alkylation technology. This contract was awarded by KBR to Dongying Haikelerlin Chemical Co., Ltd., located in the Dongying Port Economic Development Zone of Dongying City, Shandong Province. Under the terms of the contract, KBR will deliver the technical license package for the first such project. The K-SAAT process is a revolutionary technology for producing alkylated oils, which are ultra-clean gasoline additives. Unlike the traditional refinery alkylation processes that use strong acids, the K-SAAT process combines light olefins with isobutane using solid catalysts to produce alkylated oils; these solid catalysts are safer and more environmentally friendly. John DeBrienne, President of Technology and Consulting at KBR, said, “We are pleased to bring this innovative technology to the market.” “China will need large quantities of alkylated oils to meet the new environmental fuel standards, and the K-SAAT technology enables customers to meet the requirements for safe and environmentally friendly solutions. ”
I would like to ask, is this technology catalyst NB or process NB?
The catalyst should only go into theirs. How long is the usage cycle? Price?
Also seeking information on the catalyst life cycle and composition of KBR’s catalyst.
I heard that the catalyst can last for three years and cannot be regenerated.
The catalyst has a service life of about 2 years and requires regeneration
