For Siemens single-acting positioners, the valve position should be fully closed when the input is at its minimum value; yet the displayed valve position is 20% – why can’t it reach 0? How to fix this? ?
There are too many Siemens positioners; what are the models? Generally speaking, mechanical types require zero adjustment, while electronic types require self-tuning.
Try using self-tuning without considering the limit setting
It should be the pressure release valve, right? Check what the output is; if it’s not due to a limit issue or a stuck valve, self-tuning usually solves the problem.
Recheck it; the possible reasons are: 1. Blockage in the air circuit inside the locator, 2. The feedback rod is loose or installed in an incorrect position
