For sampling ports on storage tanks, there are generally two approaches. One is to use sampling ports that are relatively small, with a diameter of DN15 or less, and connect needle valves or ball valves to them; the other approach is to use ports with a diameter of DN25 or more, and drill holes in the flange cover before attaching smaller valves. Which method do you prefer usually? Which one is better? We have done designs for Bayer as a partner; we used small sampling ports, but they changed them all to DN25. What are the advantages of doing this?
Not in frequent contact. But from what I remember, they all seem to be 1/2\" (DN15).
For bets that aren’t easy, use numbers below 15.
I used to work at a design engineering company, where DN25 was the most commonly used size.
I usually prefer smaller ones, but it’s best to have a DN25 root section, as this helps prevent blockages caused by sediment
I’ve used them all; I’ve never gambled with them. I suggest DN15 will be sufficient
It is recommended to use DN25 (1") to reduce sedimentation; I think factors such as medium fluidity and disturbance may also play a role
Those who have had the tests done can tell you that DN15 is the most suitable size for the mouth of glass bottles; DN25 won’t fit. For gas phase, use DN10.:D
Considering the properties of the material, it is a pure liquid that doesn’t easily get clogged, so the size can be smaller.
