Jiangsu Hengsheng: The project for converting waste gases from the ammonia synthesis system into CNG was successfully completed. Recently, the project, which involved an investment of over 20 million yuan and was carried out in collaboration with Jiangsu Jinmei Hengsheng Chemical Co., Ltd., was finished. This project involves the comprehensive utilization of the waste gases generated by the company’s ammonia synthesis system. It is divided into two parts: the first part focuses on the recovery of methane and hydrogen from the gases resulting from membrane separation. Using the exhaust gases from the ammonia synthesis system as raw material, modern purification and separation technologies are employed to physically separate, purify these gases, and extract CH4 to produce high-quality CNG. The hydrogen and nitrogen remaining after CNG extraction are then used in the synthesis unit to produce ammonia. Secondly, the vent gas from the liquid ammonia storage tank is pressurized; after ammonia is removed using a high-pressure ammonia recovery unit, it is sent to the CNG recovery system to enable the separation of hydrogen from methane. The recovered hydrogen is used in ammonia synthesis to increase the production of ammonia, while the separated methane is used to produce CNG products. Amid the industry-wide downturn and the environment of capacity reduction, launching this project represents an effective way for enterprises to cut costs, improve efficiency, and enhance their competitiveness.
