I would like to ask: the flash point of methanol is 11°C or lower. According to standards, the storage temperature for oils should generally be 5 degrees Celsius below their flash point; however, the recommended storage temperature for methanol, as indicated in various sources, is 35°C or lower. The regulation requiring that the storage temperature of oils be 5 degrees Celsius below their flash point is subject to certain conditions. It is not necessary for the storage temperature of all media to be 5 degrees Celsius below their flash point; otherwise, very large refrigeration units would be required in the storage area to provide sufficient cooling. I suggest you take another look at the \"Code for Design of Oil Depots\"; it explains things quite clearly there as well. For methanol specifically, we generally use internal floating roof tanks for storage at normal temperature and pressure.

The requirement of being 5 degrees below the flash point generally applies to those media that require heating (heat tracing). For media stored at room temperature, the ambient temperature is generally used as the storage temperature.
