I would like to ask why carbon steel should be painted, while austenitic stainless steel and galvanized carbon steel should not be painted?
Buried equipment and pipelines shall, in accordance with the relevant provisions of SH3022–2011, adopt an anti-corrosion structure using extra-strength polyethylene adhesive tape. The anti-corrosion requirements for process buried pipes (whether insulated or not) are as follows: Inner layer: Use an inorganic zinc-rich primer for anti-corrosion protection; the surface must be rust-removed to a level of Sa2.5 through thorough spraying or blasting, with a final dry film thickness of more than 50μm. Middle layer: Use calcium silicate insulation material (or similar hard, water-repellent, heat-resistant materials), with a thickness of 50mm ； Outer layer: Features a highly reinforced polyethylene adhesive tape for corrosion protection.
