I am new to GB50341-2014, and I am not quite clear on two points in it; I would appreciate some guidance. 1. For storage tanks with a microinternal pressure not exceeding 18 kPa, anchoring is required as calculated in Appendix A. Appendix A.6.3 states that the anchorage tank should be a self-supporting vault. Can’t a conical top be used either for very small storage tanks, such as those with a diameter of 3m or 4m? It seems that there’s no direct connection between whether the anchor is secured or not and the shape of the top. I read in the preparation notes that this section is based on Appendix F of API650 and API620. I checked Appendix F of API650 and didn’t find such a clause; is it in 620 instead? Since it’s not clear which chapter of 620 is being referred to, it’s impossible to find it, but I have the feeling that there’s something wrong with this clause. 2. Regarding seismic design, 3.03 specifies that seismic design is required in areas with a seismic intensity of 6 degrees or higher; note that the word used is \"required\". It must comply with Appendix D. Article 1.3 in Appendix D states that it does not apply to oil tanks with a volume of less than 100 m3. So, for oil tanks with a small diameter and a volume of only 40 to 50 m3, is seismic design necessary? If necessary, what method should be used? The same applies to other standard GB50761; it is not applicable to volumes less than 100 m3. SH 3046 does not provide detailed explanations; it only states to refer to the relevant regulations.
