I would like to ask the colleagues from design institutes: In your company, which department is responsible for determining the design temperature and design pressure of pipelines – the process engineering department, the pipeline material department, or the piping engineering department? Do you think this is reasonable?
In your company, the design temperature and pressure for pipeline foundations are determined by the process engineering department; the selection of materials is handled by the pipeline materials engineering department, while the design temperature and design pressure of the pipelines are determined by the piping engineering department. It seems reasonable.
The design pressure is determined by the process systems team. The design temperature is determined together by the process system and the materials.
It must be determined by the manufacturing process; for piping, the material is selected based at most on the design pressure and design temperature
