I’m working on a project related to acetaldehyde. There is a centrifugal mother liquor tank with a capacity of 6 cubic meters; the medium involved falls under Category A. According to the process requirements, liquid needs to overflow into this tank. The tank is to be buried directly in the ground – is this acceptable? I’d appreciate advice from those with more experience.
It shouldn’t be possible; from an environmental perspective, it might be argued that there could be pollution emissions

For tanks of this type, it is best to construct them as tank pits and then fill them with sand, rather than burying them directly.
A so-called tank pool is made of reinforced concrete and resembles a pool. The tank foundation can be integrated with the tank basin floor. The distance between tank ponds and storage tanks is generally considered to be around one meter. If it is installed outdoors, a water collection pit measuring one meter by one meter must also be considered inside the tank. The greatest advantage of installing a tank pool is that, in the event of a leak in the storage tank, the contents will not seep into the surrounding soil, making it easier to collect and handle them.
Using a Class A factory building as a tank pool – does this conflict with the regulation that Class A factory buildings cannot have underground or semi-underground structures?
Class A factories are not subject to any regulations regarding underground or semi-underground structures; two main considerations are the evacuation of operators and the accumulation of harmful substances. And by setting up tanks, first of all, there will be no workers working underground. The second tank is used for sand filling and does not accumulate harmful substances either. Additionally, it is recommended to use tank pits, mainly in response to the original poster’s idea of using directly buried tanks.
It is possible to bury it. But approval is currently being enforced very strictly. An underground leak prevention layer, fireproof layer, and so on are required.
