The rotors of the gas blowers in our factory are severely contaminated with debris; on several occasions, the backup units were unable to start properly. After the operating units stopped, their shaft vibration levels increased significantly. We were forced to clean the rotors and perform balancing operations on multiple occasions. Could anyone tell me what might be the reasons for this?

In addition to the issues mentioned above such as poor operation of the electrostatic precipitator, improper sealing of the fan outlet valve, and untimely cleaning of accumulated liquid, it is necessary to check whether the standby fan needs to be warmed up before being started, whether there are any problems with the motor used for rotating the fan, and to ensure that at least one of the fan’s inlet and outlet valves is properly closed. If the cranking motor is running, even a small amount of sediment will be balanced out; by closing a valve to create dead gas, no deposits will form.
The backup unit needs to be warmed up before it can be turned on; if it still can’t be turned on after warming up, it means either the gas valve isn’t closed properly or there’s a leak
You forgot that some manufacturers place the electrostatic precipitators behind the fans!
Regularly purge the drain pipe, turn the shaft, and warm up the machine before starting it up
If the situation is that serious, one should not consider only electric capture; instead, focus should be placed on the operation of the primary cooler as well as regular cleaning of accumulated liquid. When there is a large amount of material accumulated in the standby unit, it should be assumed that this accumulation occurs during normal operation, and targeted purging should be carried out after the unit is shut down.
