I’m not sure what FC and Fls specifically mean; I guess mFC stands for meter fluid column, but I don’t know what Fls means. Could someone please help explain what mFC and mFls mean? Thank you

The so-called FC refers to the liquid column as understood by the original poster, that is, what is commonly referred to as the pump’s head; Germans sometimes call this value the total head. FLS stands for roughly fluid lift static, that is, static head. How should this be understood? The Germans’ explanation refers to the head achieved when the pump’s outlet valve is closed; in other words, it is the head obtained without taking into account pipeline resistance or similar factors. It is a term used to describe pumps that operate under special conditions, such as high-flow circulation pumps or oil pumps that have to overcome the pressure difference between the suction side and the high liquid level. . . It’s a bit complicated; you can think of the German concept of FLS as being equivalent to 80% of the total head. Be sure to leave some margin – the indication of FLS is there to remind design teams to take such a margin into account when making selections. The Germans put it more bluntly: when you see FLS and want to know the value of FC, contact our sales team. . Just a little bit of sales strategy. . . To be honest, dealing with Germans is usually pretty easy, but when it comes to nitpicking over words, those Germans can be quite annoying. . .
