Is the acceptance of plastic pipes the same as that of metal pipes?

Regarding the inspection, pressure testing, purging, and other acceptance procedures for such plastic pipes, are they the same as those for metal pipes, or are there separate acceptance standards? Anyone who can share this information would be appreciated. Thank you~
