When producing acid from pyrite, a safety water seal is installed in the flue gas duct at the outlet of the electrostatic demister in the purification process; why isn’t it simply replaced with a make-up air valve?
A safety water seal prevents damage to the equipment. After draining the water, air should be introduced to prevent damage to the equipment. The oxygen supply port can be placed before the drying tower, or before the electrostatic demister; it can also be installed on the electrostatic demister pipeline. Generally, it is placed before the drying tower or on the electrostatic demister pipeline

The purpose of installing a safety water seal at the outlet of the electrostatic precipitator is to allow air to flow in large quantities when the negative pressure rises above the designed level, thereby reducing the negative pressure and protecting the equipment.
Can the oxygen supply holes be placed before the electrostatic demister?
