As the title says? What standards are followed in the production of explosion-proof electrical enclosures labeled Ex? There’s a box on site made of 2mm stainless steel that also has the Ex mark; it seems unreliable
Explosion protection standards can be found in the relevant national standards; different explosion protection designs have their specific requirements. If that box doesn’t contain any electrical components or equipment, it doesn’t matter whether it is explosion-proof or not. Only when electrical equipment is installed do the specific explosion-proof specifications become meaningful.
Explosion protection is a broad concept, and there are various types of it. The most common type is protection through the enclosure, namely the flameproof type (d). This type of explosion protection requires that the enclosure be able to withstand internal explosion pressures; therefore, an enclosure with a thickness of 2 mm certainly does not meet these requirements. However, there are other types of explosion protection as well, such as the increased safety type (e), which imposes special requirements on the components installed inside, such as the use of terminals that do not generate sparks. In this case, the enclosure only needs to meet requirements regarding impact resistance and protection, so an enclosure with a thickness of 2 mm is completely sufficient.

The “Ex” mark is merely an explosion-proof indication; the specific type of explosion protection depends on the explosion-proof marking. Based on the description, it seems to be an intrinsically safe explosion-proof box, in accordance with GB3836.3 standards
Generally, explosion-proof electrical equipment also comes with an explosion-proof certificate, which has a serial number
