Is there such a thing as overload due to excessive flow in shielded pumps, or how should this phenomenon be described?
I’ve never seen an overload due to high traffic, but I have encountered the system shutting down many times because of excessive current.
Yes, in our case, when a 100 tons/hour shielded pump is operated at 135 tons/hour, it approaches its rated current level, and the electrician will inform us to reduce the operating capacity.

Shielded pumps are also centrifugal pumps, and overload can certainly occur due to high flow rates. If the motor is selected with a sufficient margin based on the shaft power, it is not necessarily necessary for the motor to experience overcurrent during overload, and it will not get damaged in the short term. Overload is manifested as excessive axial thrust, which can damage the bearings over time and consequently damage the pump. Therefore, when designing a pump, the process operating conditions must be clearly specified.
